Apple Jam is great to give as a gift for holidays or special occasions. Add it to vanilla bean ice cream for a special treat.
Add some lemon juice to the apples after you have peeled and cored them if you aren't going to use them right away. You can also swap out the cinnamon for a cinnamon stick instead.

You can even combine the apples for a flavor explosion. Apple jam if stored correctly can last up to 1 year. Just place in jars leaving about ¼ inch in the jar.

This isn't like apple pie filling this is more a mix between apple sauce and apple butter. This Jam is amazing on so many things. You can even add a small amount to your homemade yogurt.

How do you make apple jam from scratch?
- Peel and chop apples.
- Add sugar and cider.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add fruit pectin.
- Stir fruit so it does not stick.
- Cook until the sauce becomes thick and the apples no longer hold their shape.
- If you do not want any fruit chunks use a potato masher or immersion blender and mash the remaining fruit chunks.
- Pour into mason jars.
- Place the lids and rings on each jar make sure they are tight and push the lid down.
- Allow it to cool.

Homemade Apple Jam Recipe

Ingredients
- 6 large crisp apples
- 2 cups of apple cider
- 1 Box of Pectin
- 1 cup of sugar
- 3 tbs of cinnamon
Instructions
- Peel and finely chop apples.
Place the apples a large heavy bottomed pot.
- Add 1 cup of sugar and apple cider.
Heat to medium and cook fruit to a rolling boil or for about 10-15 minutes.
- Once fruit comes to a boil add one package of fruit pectin.
- Stir fruit so it does not stick.
- Continue cooking over a medium heat until sauce becomes thick.
- If you would like to remove the chunks, use a potato masher and mash the left fruit chunks or pour into your food processor place on pulse for 1 minute.
- With a ladle pour into 4 8oz mason jars or 8 4oz jars.
- Place the lids and rings on each jar make sure they are tight and push the lid down. Allow to cool for 30 minuites to 2 hours.
