If you have ever purchased wax melts you know the price is a little high. Depending on the brand you use, they can be known to lose their scent quick. I have a fabulous way to recycle old candles and transform them into DIY wax melts that will make your home smell amazing. First off, I need to disclose, I have a slight obsession with candles. I love buying limited edition candles that are going to make my home smell like Christmas, summer, spring, and the list goes on. But what happens when the wick runs out and there is still an inch of the candle at the bottom? Behold a super easy DIY that requires minimal items to create homemade wax melts to use!
I am a huge fan of Bath and Body Works and their candles are out of this world. They offer very bold scents that truly fill your room with a magical fragrance. For this DIY I used my leftover Bath and Body Works candles but you can use any brand of candle you have. They will all work, and it is a great way to get all the scent out of your candle. I always buy B&BW when it is on sale, so I get a deal and can stock up.
Grab any silicone mold I used one that was to make little flowers. The silicone style molds are great because they are extremely flexible so once your wax has set, you can push the wax melt right out and it stays in one piece. If you were to use an iced tray that wasn’t flexible you would have a mess and tons of broken pieces of wax. This tutorial is a breeze to make, and trust me, it will leave your home smelling amazing just like your candles.

I share a video that shows you exactly how easy it is to make these wax melts or tarts out of your candles. Then just pop into your favorite wax warmer and wait for it to fill your home with a beautiful fragrance. Now if you have old wax melt containers you for sure can pour the mix into those containers to store them.
These DIY Wax Melts Make The Perfect DIY Gift
I think these melts turned out gorgeous. Not only do they work just as good if not better than store purchased ones, but they are really pretty. Put in a pretty bag or tin and add some ribbon and you have a perfect DIY gift to give a loved one. These are great for birthdays, new moms, holiday gifts, and just as a thank you! If you don’t know if the person has a wax warmer just buy them one to go along with it, and you have a complete gift.
