How To Make Your Own Decals
Using your Cricut die cutting machine and craft vinyl you can create custom vinyl lettered wall decals to decorate and express yourself with cool quotes and sayings on your wall.
The beauty is all you need is your Cricut machine, a weeder, transfer sheets, and permanent or removable vinyl.
There is a wide selection of vinyl both adhesive and heat transfer vinyl, but for wall decals, you will use adhesive.
I usually order vinyl rolls because I am generally creating these for customized orders. You can order rolls of 12 x 48 online at Joann or Michaels.
There are a few materials that you can use to make your own decals. You can use removable vinyl on indoor projects, or anything you may want to remove it from later on.
Permanent vinyl will be for things like car decals, tumblers, and signs. For everything that you don't want the vinyl to easily come off of.
I made this wonder woman wall decal for a friend, and it turned out perfect. It has about 5 layers and I layered it so that she could apply to the wall and not have to worry about 5 layers.
When I layer vinyl I make sure to add the topmost layer to the transfer sheet first, that way you can easily place each layer over the other.
You can make large decals even though you can only cut 12 by 24 with your machine, I made this Unicorn Wall Decal and it is huge!
So you can cut as large as your cutting machine will allow and then piece them together.
