Homemade granola bars make such an easy breakfast or snack idea. Some days I am just not in the mood to have breakfast.
Getting something in your stomach is so important to get your day started right, so if you are like me, you will reach for something simple.
Having granola bars on hand to just grab when you are having a busy morning or afternoon is such a sanity saver.
The first thing that I usually reach for in the morning is coffee. I am sure that most of you are with me there! Who really wants to cook something at “dark thirty” in the morning?
I know that I am not. Homemade granola bars get you going with something healthy that you can reach for easily.
Homemade Granola Bars with Walnuts
Adding in walnuts to the granola bars gives you the extra protein that you need. Your body needs nutrients to turn into energy, right?
Whether it is in the morning or for an afternoon pick me up, these homemade granola bars are the answer!
The granola bars that you can buy in the grocery store can cost an arm and a leg to have enough stocked in your home. Honestly, they probably aren’t the best thing for you either.
How many added extras are probably in those? I don’t even want to think about it. Making our own homemade granola bars with walnuts allows me to know EXACTLY what is in them.
These turned out so good that I am admitting that I could have eaten the whole pan myself. I shared though! Add-ins like walnuts are so fun and these also have peanut butter and chocolate chips.
You could even add in fried fruits as well to make it that much more filling. The possibilities are honestly endless when it comes to making your own granola bars at home.
It would not make it as healthy, but you could even add a chocolate drizzle to jazz it up for a sweet snack that you would not feel as guilty about eating.
