For as long as I can remember, my love for popcorn came from my time at movie theaters. But let's be honest - movie theater popcorn is expensive, and I've actually learned over the years that I prefer homemade popcorn.
You can easily add your favorite popcorn seasonings, which can be so many flavors. Think cheddar, cinnamon powder, chili powder, and more.
A lot of times, people will make fresh popcorn kernels on the stove, but I prefer the Instant Pot. Is there nothing that the Instant Pot can't do? It's the best!

You can use whatever oil you like, some of my favorites are olive oil, canola oil, or avocado oil. You can also use vegetable oil or a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil or butter.

You're going to love Instant Pot Popcorn. It's a fast way to make popcorn perfectly.
Ingredients
- ½ Cup Popcorn Kernels
- 2 Tablespoons Oil
Instructions
- Set your pot on saute and immediately place the oil inside your instant pot.
- Allow the oil to heat up for about 2 minutes, or until your instant pot displays the word “hot”.
- Pour the popcorn kernels into the bottom of the pot.
- Stir for about 1 minute before putting a lid on the top you can see through.
- In about 2-3 minutes of heating while covered, you will start to hear the popcorn kernels popping.
- Let it pop for about 5 minutes or until most of the kernels have popped. Serve and enjoy!
