A homemade pancake mix recipe is way easier than you think! With just a few simple ingredients you can have fluffy pancakes that you make from scratch! The best part is that you can top them any way you want, add strawberries or chocolate chips for the best pancakes you will ever taste!

Most of your dry ingredients for this easy pancake batter, you should already have in your pantry. The dry buttermilk, you may have to go out and grab. But when it comes to the wet ingredients there are only 2, and most of us have them also.

How To Make Pancake Mix?

To make pancake dry batter you mix the following ingredients:

  • all purpose flour
  • dry buttermilk
  • baking soda
  • baking powder
  • sugar

I like to make mine ahead and then store it in an airtight container. This is a great way to save some time next time you make pancakes. When you are ready to eat them, just add water and an egg to the batter in a large bowl. And cook in a pan over medium heat and cook till they are golden brown.

When these buttermilk pancakes are done, I love to top them with maple syrup or even fresh fruit. Sometimes I like to add both, fruit and syrup.

Can You Use Pancake Mix for Waffles?

Yes! You want the mix to make waffles, a little thicker, so remove 1/4 cup to 1/2 of the water. Then just pop them in the waffle maker for the. most perfect Saturday morning breakfast.

Whether I am making pancakes or waffles, I like to top them with a little unsalted butter.

When To Flip A Pancake?

Ingredients

Homemade Pancake Mix

  • 6 1/3 cip all purpose flour, unbleached
  • 1 1/3 cup dry buttermilk
  • 2 tbs baking powder
  • 1 tbs baking soda
  • 1/3 cup sugar

Fluffy Pancake Recipe

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 1 cup pancake mix

Instructions

For The Dry Pancake Mix

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and it all together until I thought it was mixed well. Store the mix in an airtight container.
  2. To make pancakes use

  1. Mix egg, vanilla, and milk or water with the dry mix.
  2. In a hot skillet, on med-high heat or on a griddle, add some oil. Now ladle some of the mix in.
  3. When you notice bubbles start to form and the edges crisping, flip it. pancake cooking in the skillet
  4. Serve with your favorite pancake toppings, and enjoy!

Makes around 40 pancakes give or take.
