Are Pickles Safe To Eat On Keto?

Surprisingly yes! Pickles and pickle juice are 2 foods that are full of electrolytes. Electrolytes are something you need lots of when you’re following the keto diet. Plus they are very low in carbs!

I know firsthand that looking for keto recipes can be a daunting task, but these keto fried pickles will not let you down. You will be shocked when you take your first bite of this tasty snack.

A keto diet can be very beneficial, so you have every right to have access to delicious things you can eat while on a keto diet. Keep in mind, I have more keto recipes up my sleeve that you will also love.

How many carbs are in deep-fried pickles?

This recipe is 1 of my favorite snacks. I love that the pork rind crumbs are flavorless and best of all, there are only 2 net carbs per serving!

Keto fried pickles are the perfect thing for you to snack on throughout the day if you are on a keto diet or not! They also work great for appetizers for your main meal, or even your main meal if that is what you are feeling.

I happen to love pickles, no matter how strange that may sound, but there is something I love more than pickles. Fried foods! And now I can have both at the same time which truly is a gift!

I know that frying foods may sound unhealthy to some, but it really just depends on what you are frying and what you are frying it in. So do not let the “fried” portion of this recipe keep you from enjoying it.

Another plus side of these keto fried pickles is that it does not take long to make at all. You will be able to sit down, relax, and enjoy your freshly fried snack in less than twenty minutes.

How Are Breaded Pickles Keto?

This recipe is keto because we eliminate the traditional breading and instead make a pork panko with ground pork rinds.

I don’t know about you, but when I start to get really hungry, every minute seems to last for an hour. Because of this, the less time it takes to cook something to satisfy my hunger, the happier I will be.

I am sure that you have heard the word “hangry” before because it is a very powerful feeling. Your hanger will be short-lived when you start making these delicious snacks to put into your belly!

Not only will you enjoy these keto fried pickles during your keto diet, but your friends and family will love them too whether they are on a diet or not. They won’t even be thinking about them being keto when they are munching on them.

Low Carb Fried Pickles Recipe

You can whip these up for the next time you host an event at your place or want to bring something to someone else’s event. Any guest would be considered lucky to be able to enjoy these!

Just be prepared for the kiddos to start asking you to make these all the time after they first try them. You would be surprised by how delicious something so simple could be to everyone!

Another plus about these keto fried pickles is that they are keto of course! When I was hunting for good keto recipes, I found that a lot of them are either not truly keto or taste like cardboard.

If you are anything like me, you do not find cardboard-tasting food to really quench your hunger. That is why you have to be careful when you are trying to find keto foods to try or to make.

If you are looking for the perfect snack for your keto/low carb diet. This keto pickle recipe is a great option!

Ingredients

  • 8 dill pickle spears
  • ¼ cup Almond flour
  • 1 cup pork rind
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons Heavy whipping cream
  • ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer at 350 degrees F.
  2. Use a paper towel to get some of the liquid off of the pickles.
  3. Crush Pork rinds and put them into a bowl.
  4. Mix the heavy cream and egg in a second bowl.
  5. Mix garlic powder and almond flour and put on a plate. You may add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Coat the pickle spears in the almond flour mixture, then into the egg wash, and finally, into the pork rind bread crumbs.
  7. Place the coated pickle spears into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8.  Cook for 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Notes

Make this recipe your own by adding different seasonings. You could try cayenne pepper, cajun seasoning. You can even swap out the dills, for butter pickles. The best way to enjoy these keto air fryer pickles is, in my opinion, to eat them with a ranch dip.
