2 Ingredient Strawberry Instant Pot Applesauce
I love when apples go on sale and you can buy a surplus to have for our favorite recipes like apple pie, turnovers, and of course this strawberry applesauce. This strawberry Instant Pot applesauce is as simple as it gets. 2 ingredients gives you this perfectly sweet and smooth applesauce with a hint of tartness.
What I love about using the Instant Pot for this recipe is it breaks down the apples without having to even mess with them. You simply core and slice them up, toss it in the pot with the other ingredients, select your setting and the Instant Pot does all the work. If you like a more chunky applesauce you won't have to do much, if you prefer a bit more smooth, then blend it till it meets the right consistency.
Back before the Instant Pot was around, I would make this in the slow cooker or even on the stove top. We didn't make it that often just for the fact of it being a long process of letting the apples and strawberries cook down, it just took time. Now with prep and 9 minute cook time on your Instant Pot you can have this snack ready to be served up in no time flat. We love the first taste of the applesauce when it is still a little warm, it makes for a decadent treat. This sauce is even better the next day, as the apples and strawberries blend their flavors more, and it has even more of a marrying of flavors.
